Terms of Use

These terms govern access to La Puente Residents Directory. By using the reference, you accept the terms below. If you do not accept them, do not use the pages or linked tools.

1. What This Reference Is

La Puente Residents Directory is a privately operated reference about public rolls, record indexes, courts, and historical directory collections connected with La Puente and Los Angeles County, California. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with the City of La Puente, Los Angeles County, California agencies, a court, a library, or another records custodian.

2. Permitted and Prohibited Use

Use the pages only for lawful purposes. You may not use the reference or information obtained through it to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm another person
  • Locate a person protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit fraud, identity theft, or another unlawful act
  • Make FCRA-regulated decisions about credit, employment, tenant screening, insurance, or another covered purpose
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the pages at scale
  • Interfere with the operation, security, or availability of the reference

3. No Consumer Reporting Agency

This reference is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 et seq. Neither the pages nor a result returned by a linked search tool is a consumer report. None may be used to judge eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, tenant screening, or another purpose regulated by the FCRA.

4. External Links and Tools

County, city, state, federal, library, archive, and sponsored search services set their own terms, prices, availability, and data practices. La Puente Residents Directory does not control those outside services and is not responsible for their content, results, or handling of information submitted to them.

5. No Warranties

The reference is provided “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that a page is accurate, complete, current, suitable for a particular purpose, or free of interruption. A linked portal may change, fail, charge a fee, or return a result that requires correction by its custodian.

6. Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or other damages arising from use of this reference or an external resource, including an action taken from a record found through it.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the operators from claims, demands, losses, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising from misuse of the reference or violation of these terms.

8. Copyright and Reuse

The original writing, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a brief attributed excerpt is allowed. Republishing a full page or copying content systematically is not allowed without permission.

9. Changes to These Terms

The operators may revise these terms by posting a replacement version. Continued use after the new version appears means that the revised terms are accepted.

10. Restricting Access

Access may be blocked or limited when a user violates these terms, abuses the reference, or threatens its operation. The operators may take that action without advance notice where appropriate.

11. California Governing Law

California law governs these terms without applying its conflict-of-law rules. The California Public Records Act, Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000, is the state's public-records statute and does not make La Puente Residents Directory a custodian. California's Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code section 1798.100 et seq., governs covered business privacy rights where applicable. Those laws do not replace the special rules for county deeds, vital records, voter files, or court records.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page. Questions about an official record should go to the custodian named on the relevant page.
